2010 / FEBRUARY / GRIME vs DUBSTEP SOUNDCLASH / FEB 12

Its been well over a year since Void hosted its first all UK Grime showcase. Since then certain Dj’s have continued to push the sound exclusively or continued incorporating it into their sets with other genres be it Dubstep, Garage or Hip Hop. On Friday February 12th Void takes this powerhouse underground London sound and throws it straight up against Dubstep in a soundclash focusing exclusively on both genres. Void has hand picked a line-up of Dj’s know what their job is, to represent the best in their chosen genre for the night. Harmonic 313 finally gets to play an all Grime set! Frequently sneaking in Grime classics from Wiley and dubs from the likes of Trim and Flodan into his sets, Feb 12th is where he can let fly with all the grime vocal and instrumental dubplates and classics he wants. Likewise Paul Fraser and Victim will be on the same tip along with Max Gosford, one Sydney’s true Grime soldiers repping the sound weekly on his FBI radio show Low Motion.

Local heavy Dubstep specialists, The Abyss ( Boot and Sook) will show everyone what’s up with the Dubstep sound. With unlimited access to some of freshest and heaviest Dubstep tunes around, these boys blow the roof of the Phoenix bar, guaranteed. Murda1 makes his way back to Void with his unique taste in Bass heavy Dubstep and mixing styles. Dj for local hip hop legends, Defwish Cast, Murda always bring the turntablist styles to whatever he is playing. Expect scratching and cutting from this killer DJ. Last but not least is the one known as Catalyst making his debut at Void, scoring 3rd in the Void Dj comp, this boy showed countless times why needs to get his sound out there. Don’t miss this guy!
