+ INDEX feat CLARK NOVA / JULY 24

PRESS RELEASE

After the amazing experience that was KODE 9 at the last INDEX , Sydney’s fastest growing night is back with a stellar diverse line-up of Dj’s. Clark Nova, known for his sets at Frigid joins the lush sounds of Eli, Zerodub and Mark Pritchard. Paul Fraser topping things off with the Dubstep wobblers and Steve Spacek on vocal duties as is the Index standard.

Clark Nova started life out as a music journalist and through circumstances that no one really remembers, ended up becoming a semi-regular DJ at Sydney’s long running Sunday night club, Frigid. It was the perfect place to indulge in playing whatever he wanted from glitched-up electronica to jazz, ambient and the odd Sonic Youth track when he could get away with it. Not so long ago you could find Clark Nova playing the occasional hip-hop party and more recently has played at nights such as Headroom and spent nearly five years as co-host of FBi’s now defunct, specialist electronic music show, Quadrasonic. He also gave himself the title of Sydney’s most underrated DJ. The decision making process was very stringent.More recently Clark Nova has been immersing himself in the techno end of dubstep, dubby techno and even a little bit of house music. He doesn’t take care of his vinyl as well as he should but that’s because it’s loved and played so often. You can hear the love come through in his sets. All you need is love… And bass.
